My Views for the Future as Your Council Representative
I am seeking your support for Council Representative. 
The following are my views for the future and my commitment to you as your Council Representative. 

1.  I see in our immediate future, a merger proposition that will be difficult. We must negotiate a merger agreement and this may prove to be a much greater fight than we had during our last contract negotiations. If this merger is approved, UAL management will have to negotiate a transition agreement. That means we negotiate with UAL management to come to agreement on our collective future (AFA USA & AFA UAL) contract. UAL management cannot operate a combined airline unit until all union contracts are negotiated and agreed too. If UAL management does not bargain fairly during our transition agreement process, we will have a contract fight much greater than the one we just went through. If UAL wants to create the largest airline in the world then we should expect a contract that will provide for the best pay, benefits and working conditions in the industry.

I submit to you that I will work hard to help us achieve the best contract in the industry.

2.  I want to bring a greater use of technology to AFA so that we may provide better use of AFA time and money. This may help to keep our union dues at an acceptable level. I believe the use of technology will enhance our ability to fight contract violations and serve you better. 
One of the technologies I would like to explore for our members is the use of Web Casts for local union meetings. Many of you commute or have family responsibilities. If making meetings is difficult you could view and participate in local meetings from the comfort of your home in front of your PC. Do you think you would be more informed? I submit that you would.

3.  I want to bring to you Contract Education Classes. I have proposed this now as a volunteer however, I will be better able to move that process forward in the elected Council Representative position. 

4.  I will continue to work in the legislative arena so that we may receive the benefit of law in our workplace.
